Welcome to DesignPulse Innovation Hub

DesignPulse Innovation Hub LBG was born from a simple but critical observation: Africa does not lack creative talent; it lacks structured pathways that turn talent into impact. Across classrooms, communities, and informal creative spaces, young people and aspiring designers were brimming with ideas, yet disconnected from the skills, mentorship, and opportunities required to thrive in the modern digital economy.

The story of DesignPulse Africa begins with a recognition of this gap between potential and possibility. Traditional education systems often focused on theory, while industries demanded practical, job-ready skills. Many creatives learned in isolation, without access to professional standards, feedback, or networks. Women and girls faced even greater barriers—limited access, reduced visibility, and fewer pathways into high-value creative and digital roles.

DesignPulse Africa emerged to change this narrative. It was founded as a purpose-driven institution designed to bring rhythm, structure, and momentum to creative development. The name DesignPulse reflects this intent: design as a disciplined process of problem-solving, and pulse as the energy, movement, and life that drive innovation forward.

From the outset, DesignPulse Africa was built not as a conventional training centre, but as an ecosystem—a place where learning, practice, mentorship, and industry converge. Here, creatives do not simply acquire skills; they learn how to think creatively, collaborate, and apply design in real-world contexts. Every program is rooted in hands-on experience, every project tied to practical outcomes, and every learner supported on a journey from learning to earning.

As the Hub evolved, its commitment to inclusion and impact deepened. Initiatives such as Design4Girls were created to ensure that women and girls are not left behind in Africa’s digital transformation, while partnerships with businesses, NGOs, and institutions strengthened the bridge between talent and opportunity. DesignPulse Africa also embraced the responsibility of producing African-centred design knowledge—solutions and insights shaped by local realities rather than imported assumptions.

Today, DesignPulse Africa stands as a platform for developing talent, driving innovation, and powering futures. Its story is one of belief in people, investment in skill, and confidence in Africa’s creative potential. As it looks toward the future, DesignPulse Africa remains guided by the same founding conviction: when talent is nurtured, validated, and connected to opportunity, it becomes a powerful force for economic growth, social inclusion, and lasting change across the continent.
